A build up of ear wax can be quite common. In fact, ten per cent of children and one in 20 adults will suffer from excessive ear wax throughout their life. While some people may choose to clean out their own ears, a professional may be required to remove excessive ear wax, which can lead to uncomfortable symptoms.
The professional nurses at Earworx use a range of expert curettage and micro-suction techniques for a safe and easy procedure with perfect results.
Our Friendly Team
Our registered nurse at our Wyong Clinic, Catherine McMenamin, has a suite of practical knowledge to make sure that your procedure remains safe and gentle. Catherine has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. She has worked in several local hospitals and medical clinics, where she has developed precision-perfect skills in attending to clients in a timely manner and with a calming demeanour.
Catherine’s nursing experience includes roles as nurse manager, in which she has developed excellent leadership and relationship management skills. Her caring manner makes patients feel comfortable the instant Catherine begins working with them. She always ensures that patients feel safe and understand medical procedures before beginning; creating a welcoming and compassionate environment.
Catherine prides herself on providing the highest level of care to all her patients. She loves working within the local community to get to know her patients and ensuring they are extra comfortable as she delicately extracts built up wax in the ear.
Additionally, Catherine has focussed on her professional development over her career; she wants to provide evidence based care with the most updated medical information available.
With a background in acute symptom management, terminal care, and infection control, Catherine’s wide ranging experience has well equipped her to face any challenge.
How the Earworx Procedure Works
At Earworx, our ear extraction procedures focus on the excess build up of wax within the ear canal.
Our friendly nurse Catherine will use ‘loupes’; a bright light with magnification; to examine your ear canals and determine whether wax removal is clinically indicated.
Catherine will then use very gentle micro-suction and curettage techniques to relieve your ears of any built up wax. Our procedure is proven to be safe and time efficient, which allows you to get onto doing the things you love most in just a short matter of time.

Our services can provide relief from symptoms of wax build up such as hearing loss, a feeling of fullness and even water becoming trapped in the ear following swimming or bathing.
