About Earworx
One in ten children and one in 20 adults suffer from a of ear wax. While a healthy amount of ear wax may protect the skin in our ears and prevent infections, excessive wax can become a problem.
Founded in 2016, Earworx uses techniques also used by ear, nose and throat specialists. Earworx nurses use microsuction and curettage, performed under direct vision.

How the Earworx Procedure Works
We take the time to examine your ears and assess for wax build up, particularly around the eardrum.
If you need one of our extraction procedures, our friendly nurse will use a pair of ‘loupes’. These are quite similar to binoculars with a light attached to the top, and it helps our nurses have the best view of your ear canals.
The process then involves microsuction and curettage to clean any blockages from each of your ears.
Why You Might Need Ear Wax Removal
Excess ear wax can cause an uncomfortable sensation and even lead to hearing loss for some.
Depending on what you do for work, or your interests, there are a range of reasons you should see us. If your activities include swimming, surfing, listening to music through headphones, working in a dusty environment, or if you use hearing aids, then our services will be highly beneficial.
Our approach will help ease the pressure in your ears and minimise any future problems.
Pricing
Our registered nurses use dry microsuction to remove ear wax under direct observation.
The standard appointment fee for ear wax removal with Earworx is $175.
We offer a concession appointment fee for Pensioners, Veterans, Government Health Care Card Holders, Children, and Full-Time Students for $125. Please note: We do not accept the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card for concession discounts.
If no ear wax is found during your appointment, we offer a reduced rate of $85 for the consultation (or $65 for concession).
If further follow up appointments are required after additional softening (within 4 weeks of initial appointment), all follow up appointments will be charged at a rate of $80 for standard fee paying patients (or $50 for concession).
A regular return rate applies for patients who attend within 3 months or more frequently. This is $105 for regular return standard fee paying patients and $95 for regular concession/pension card holders.
Please note we are a provider for St Lukes Health and Health Care Insurance (HCI).
We also see children aged 4 years or older. A discussion with Earworx staff is recommended prior to booking. For safety reasons children need to be able to follow direction and keep reasonably still.
