Look no further than the experienced team at Earworx Sippy Downs for safe, effective and gentle professional earwax removal.
Since opening in 2016, Earworx has developed a name for itself as a leading provider of gentle and safe ear wax removal services. With a team of highly trained registered nurses across their nationwide clinics, Earworx utilises micro-suction and curettage to alleviate symptoms of pain and discomfort associated with wax build up.
Microsuction and curettage is the same wax removal method used by Ear, Nose and Throat specialists; it is completed under ‘direct observation’ which enhances safety during the removal process.
Our Friendly Team
Our Sippy Downs clinic is conveniently located within the Chancellor Park Marketplace.
Those visiting the clinic will be in the capable hands of our compassionate Registered Nurse, Keryn Meier. Keryn is an experienced registered nurse who has been successfully running an Earworx clinic in Kawana Waters, and has extensive and broad experience working with patients of all ages. Her time working in private in-home nursing has made her especially skilled in putting people at ease and ensuring a safe and comfortable healthcare encounter.
Prior to joining Earworx, Keryn provided nursing care and ongoing health assessment and management of patients both within the private, in-home setting and through other clinical hospital settings , including ear, nose and throat.
How the Earworx Procedure Works
Before we begin the removal process, our registered nurse will carefully inspect your ear canal to determine if treatment is required. This is an important step in ensuring the safety of your ear, as earwax is an important part of a healthy functioning ear; it should only be removed if the build up is causing symptoms or preventing needed assessment of the ear.
Should our nurse Keryn determine wax removal is clinically indicated, micro-suction will be used to remove the excess wax safely and gently. This process uses a small catheter attached to suction tubing to ‘vacuum’ the impacted wax out of the ear canal. Your nurse will be equipped with binocular glasses, or ‘loupes’, throughout the process to ensure direct visibility down the ear canal at all times; enhancing safety.
Why You Might Need Earwax Removal
Earwax occurs naturally in the ear and is responsible for keeping our ears lubricated and free from infection. In some cases, however, ear wax may build up to produce a blockage which can cause pain, itching, dizziness or hearing loss. Factors such as using earphones or cotton buds regularly, wearing hearing aids, regularly swimming or even genetics or your ear anatomy can increase your risk of wax build up.
If you feel as though you may be experiencing blocked ear as a result of wax build up, come see us at our Sippy Downs Earworx clinic for a professional consultation.
Our ear wax removal services are charged at a flat rate of $120, or $95 for concession card holders (including veterans, pensioners and health care card holders). If we don’t detect excess ear wax, you will be provided with some education and a reduced rate of $55.
