With over a dozen clinics located across three states, Earworx has quickly become an established and trusted earwax removal facility. This is thanks to the effectiveness and safety of the micro-suction technology we use and the skill of our nurses.
Our Friendly Team
When you visit our Kawana Waters clinic, located around the corner from Mooloolaba Beach on the Sunshine Coast, you will be in the capable hands of our nurse, Keryn Meier.
Keryn has worked in the health industry for over 25 years, which means she has extensive and broad experience working with patients of all ages. Her time working in private in-home nursing care has made her especially qualified to assist Earworx’s older patients although her strong interpersonal skills mean that any patient will feel comfortable under her care.
Prior to joining Earworx, Keryn provided complete nursing care and ongoing health assessment and management of severe end stage COPD patient with multiple co-morbidities in a private in-home nursing care setting throughout Indooroopilly. She also spent several years with the Healthcare Australia Nursing Agency providing nursing care for patients across several clinical specialities, including ENT, colo-rectal, bariatric, breast, endocrine, plastic, urology, gynaecology, orthopaedic, and maxillo-facial.
How the Earworx Procedure Works
At your appointment, Keryn will first examine the extent of your earwax impaction by carefully inserting a speculum into your ear canal. If earwax removal is clinically indicated, Keryn will also provide the opportunity to ask questions about the procedure.
The procedure itself is safe, efficient and painless. Our nurses wear ‘loupes’, which are magnifying glasses fitted with a bright light that enables clear vision of your ear canal. By inserting a tiny micro-suction catheter attaching to suction tubing into your ear, our nurse will be able to gently extract excess earwax and relieve the uncomfortable symptoms that come with blocked ears.

Why You Might Need Earwax Removal
Symptoms of impacted earwax include dizziness, pain, tinnitus, coughing, itching, odour or even hearing loss. The symptoms can arise due to frequent earphone use, wearing a hearing aid, swimming or diving regularly, working in a dirty or dusty environment, undergoing excessive stress or attempting to remove earwax yourself at home.
Some patients are genetically prone to overproducing earwax or have narrow, bendy or hairy ear canals that are more likely to become impacted with wax.
Pricing
At our Kawana Waters clinic on the Sunshine Coast, our service costs a flat rate of $120 or a concession rate of $95. Veterans, pensioners and health care card holders are entitled to pay the discounted concession rate.
If, at your appointment, your ears are found to have a healthy amount of earwax then you will receive a 50% reduced rate for your appointment.
When the solution to your aural discomfort or impairment could be as simple as a half hour appointment at your local Earworx clinic, there’s no reason to wait another day. Book with us now!
