About Earworx
Earwax removal at our Kanwal clinic, where trained registered nurses use microsuction, the same method used by Ear, Nose and Throat specialists. This water-free procedure removes built-up earwax.
Your nurse will assess whether microsuction is suitable for you, including if you have an ear infection or a weakened immune system. No referral is needed. Earworx registered nurses provide non-invasive earwax removal.

How the Earworx Procedure Works
Earwax plays a vital role in protecting our ears from foreign bodies and infection. However, when excess wax builds up and hardens, it can cause discomfort and require professional intervention.
At Earworx, our experienced nurses begin with a thorough ear examination using specialised magnifying loupes to assess your condition. If treatment is needed, we use microsuction, a vacuum-like device that removes blockages and excess wax. This water-free appointment takes roughly 30 minutes.. Microsuction removes built-up wax while respecting your ears’ natural cleaning process.
Why You Might Need Ear Wax Removal
While earwax naturally protects your ears, certain factors can lead to problematic build-up requiring professional attention.
Common signs include a feeling of fullness, muffled hearing, dizziness, and general discomfort. You may be particularly susceptible if you regularly swim or dive, wear hearing aids, use headphones frequently, or work in dusty environments – all of which can contribute to excess wax accumulation. Some individuals also naturally produce more earwax than others.
At Earworx, we understand these varying causes and provide tailored solutions to restore your ear health and comfort.
Earworx Pricing
Our registered nurses use dry microsuction to remove ear wax under direct observation.
The standard appointment fee for ear wax removal with Earworx is $175.
We offer a concession appointment fee for Pensioners, Veterans, Government Health Care Card Holders, Children, and Full-Time Students for $125. Please note: We do not accept the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card for concession discounts.
If no ear wax is found during your appointment, we offer a reduced rate of $85 for the consultation (or $65 for concession).
If further follow up appointments are required after additional softening (within 4 weeks of initial appointment), all follow up appointments will be charged at a rate of $80 for standard fee paying patients (or $50 for concession).
A regular return rate applies for patients who attend within 3 months or more frequently. This is $105 for regular return standard fee paying patients and $95 for regular concession/pension card holders.
Please note we are a provider for St Lukes Health and Health Care Insurance (HCI).
We also see children aged 4 years or older. A discussion with Earworx staff is recommended prior to booking. For safety reasons children need to be able to follow direction and keep reasonably still.
